Thirty-Fourth Hex [Voice/Action]

[Draco Malfoy was starting to go a bit stir-crazy. After four straight days of snow, then cold, then more snow, and more cold, he had realized that staying in the confines of House 25 wasn't doing him any good. Hence today he's decided to head to the Battle Dome and test his programming skills. He's gotten pretty good at it, he likes to think.

When his journal clicks on, anyone viewing it will get a good glance of the front of a large manor.]

So...you really can recreate anything, can't you. [He's going to go ahead and walk down the path toward the front door of the house, and as he enters into the front hall he's going to continue talking to the village at large. This may just be a test to see if he can continue communication inside a simulation.]

How are the rest of you coping with the snow we've received over the last few days? I'd like a few back-up plans in case this doesn't serve to satisfy. At least when it was warm I could fly a bit, but this is starting to get ridiculous.

[And he's going to turn down the halls, wandering through the maze that is the manor with the ease of someone so familiar with the area. There are the sounds of other footsteps behind him, but if he hears them he doesn't seem to care.]

What's next, anyway? They've left us alone for a while...may as well start to prepare for something big to come. What are the chances they've grown bored with us? New Feathers. You might be the next targets. You ought to have a fair warning.

[His attention's drawn away from the journal then as the footsteps stop, and he finds himself facing a masked figure.] I was wondering when you'd turn up. [And he's withdrawing his wand, closing the journal. Though the picture's no longer available, the last thing heard is the sound of a spell firing off and ricocheting around the room.

[Though he'll stay in the chamber for the full allotted hour, he will be taking a break between enemies appearing and after his hour's up to answer anyone who's contacted him via journals. People are also free to find him in the main lobby of the Battle Dome as well after his simulation's over.]

I think you underestimate the things I've seen. [Never mind the fact that Draco's a dirty cheater; being a wizard and having a vampire girlfriend whose blood heals you up almost immediately isn't exactly a normal circumstance.] Have you spoke with the other doctors that reside here?

I'm afraid not. I cannot seem to be able to catch them when they'd be available. At least not yet. Perhaps tonight will be different.

I've sopped by between destroying a possessed sofa and moving in with Ginia. Though I may have to work harder at finding...I think Law is the head of the clinic, yes? I will have to try harder to catch him.

He may be. Law I believe mans the clinic out here at the battle dome, though he might go back and forth.

...I didn't realize you were a housemate of hers.

I will have to visit the Dome then, since I've had so little luck catching him at this clinic.

It's a very recent development. The blame falls on the aforementioned possessed furniture. Once I was rid of it, she invited me to stay with her. It is a kindness I've yet to repay.

I can tell you this; he doesn't seem to be here today. Not that I've seen, anyway.

Possessed furniture. [Sure lady, whatever you say.] She tends to do that. Extend kindness, I mean. That's just who she is.

Then I shall check the clinic on this end.

[Adele snorts and shakes her head.] I have video clips of the event if you doubt it. Helios himself assured me that it was possessed and/or cursed.

All the better for her to be so well thought of in the village. Her presence here is to our benefit.

Good luck with that. [That's not the part he's really concerned with, anyway.]

I don't care much, to be honest. Though I do trust Helios' judgment a bit more than most people. [If only because Helios knows magic. Magic users have to stick together. Or something.]

She hasn't been here for that long either, if you can believe that. Not even a full year.

First impressions aside- [Adele still cannot help but shudder at the memory.] I would have to agree.

Truly? She seems so...integrated with the populace. I can honestly say I don't think I would be able to envision this place without her.

She's good at adapting. That's just what she does. There's a handful of people in this village that need to be here in order for the place to function.

And when they are gone...chaos. Perhaps that is what we need fear most.

'Chaos' seems a bit extreme if you ask me. People come, people go. That's just how things are here.

True, I was simply thinking in terms of removing the pillars of the community. How it could make things difficult for some more than others. Honestly I do not know.

That's what's interesting about this place. The Malnosso seem to know it, too. Maybe that's why they remove the pillars of the village after some time...really, that's something you'd have to ask them.

If I ever have an opportunity to discuss anything with the Malnosso, that will have to wait behind a much longer and more violent list of topics I'll have for them.

You'd be surprised how often they actually do speak to us.

What better way to remind the rats of the maze?

It's interesting in the sense that they never quite answer the questions, just tacking on more things to puzzle out. [Or, in his case, sometimes they're useful and hint at things about his future.]

Questions and contradictions in an ever circular non-argument. This is beginning to sound like my divorce proceedings.

I'm sure your ex-husband is much more merciful than the Malnosso are.

I will have to agree with you on that. He is too much of a coward to act on any malice he might have. The Malnosso have no such qualms.

Some of them aren't too terrible though, if you can believe that.

At this point I would have to take your word for it. I do not doubt it to be possible, I simply have no recent experience to the contrary.
