Fortieth Hex - [Written/Action]

[When he first opens his eyes, he's immediately blinded by the sunlight and he hisses loudly, rolling over in the dirt to shield his eyes. He doesn't move for a moment, barely bothering to take in what was going on. It was obvious he was back. His clothes were still torn and disgusting from the last draft, and he had a few dried scabs on his arms, but otherwise...he seemed fine.

Sitting up, he gropes around the area for his journal to check the date.

Shit. Just how long was death supposed to last in this place? He supposed it wasn't too entirely unusual, considering how long Arumat was gone when he had been murdered. He adjusts himself on the ground, shifting the way he's sitting and reaching in his pocket for a pen. The writing is scratchy and scrawled, but the words are legible.]

So that's what it's like.

[He doesn't care. He doesn't care to read through everything and find out what he's missed. He's on his feet and carefully walking toward house 25, already knowing that Tsuzuki and Hisoka were waiting for him and most likely could kill him again for being dead for so long.

The thing was, however, was that he couldn't figure it out. He couldn't seem to wrap his mind around what he's lost as a penalty. Maybe he got lucky and they didn't take anything at all. That would be nice, wouldn't it? But it seemed highly unlikely, especially considering the nagging in the back of his mind that something was missing. He'd just have to work it out later.

Hmm...hello house 26. You seem awfully familiar, and not in the way that it was the house some of Draco's friends live in now. He used to spend a lot of time in that house, didn't he?

No. Maybe not. He couldn't imagine why he would...must be mistaken.

It isn't until he's almost at his front door that he takes his journal again, scrawling out a few more words.]

...am I the last one to come back then? Suppose they really do save the best for the end.

We don't know! Someone else that got killed on the draft hasn't gotten back at all.

[He hesitates, feeling like he's selling Hisoka out somehow.]

I think Hisoka thought you had gone home.

I know. I told him the same thing.

[Hisoka can be so sensitive about certain things. Tsuzuki doesn't know how to help him with that.]

Do you want to talk about the draft?
idealism: (puppy wants a treat)

[personal profile] idealism 2012-12-04 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I just...

[Hisoka seems so convinced, so he simply has to ask.]

Did you really kill yourself?
idealism: (quiet glance.)

[personal profile] idealism 2012-12-05 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[He continues, taking Draco's comment more as a willful distraction than an honest question.]

If you did, I just wanted to let you know if you can talk to me if there is anything. I mean, if you feel like that again.
idealism: (Attention)

[...]

Hisoka worried a lot when you didn't come back.
idealism: (*nodnod*)

[personal profile] idealism 2012-12-10 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
[He frowns lightly.]

Why do you think he'd assume such a thing, Draco?
idealism: (Hijiri)

[personal profile] idealism 2012-12-16 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
You know he is an empath. Perhaps he noticed something was off. I think we should ask him.
idealism: (Timid fascination)

[personal profile] idealism 2012-12-19 04:16 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not about Hisoka, not really. It's about making sure they didn't hurt you.
idealism: (Business face.)

[personal profile] idealism 2012-12-21 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
You look stressed.
idealism: (You see.. when you put a head in a jar..)

[personal profile] idealism 2012-12-28 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Sometimes I wish it was. Doesn't it tire you out?
idealism: (what is this?)

[personal profile] idealism 2012-12-29 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
It would tire me out to keep up a front at all times, anyway.
idealism: (sweatdrop.)

[personal profile] idealism 2013-01-02 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not, but I was thinking that if it tires me out, it's bound to tire you out, too.
idealism: (?)

[personal profile] idealism 2013-01-04 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
...I guess. But why?
