[Two months. It had been nearly two months since he had seen the two most important women in his life, and he was finally certain they weren't coming back anytime soon. All of the new feathers had finally seemed to settle in, and none of them were actually faces he was familiar with.

In those two months, Draco Malfoy had made himself quite scarce, save for interacting with a few people he found curious and his new housemates. He didn't really want to meet new people, if you wanted to know the truth. Luceti was one big lie anyway. However, he knew he couldn't keep himself holed up in his room even longer. He really needed a hobby, actually.

And that was how Draco Malfoy found himself outside, broom in one hand, journal in the other. As he clamped the journal under his arm and mounted the broom, he allowed his mind to wander back to thoughts of his home world. Everything was much easier when he was able to use the entirety of his powers. He could do anything he had wanted at home, couldn't he? What could he do here?

...

...no, really, what could he do...he had a few ideas, but as he flew higher and higher he began to wonder what the masses would say. He soon came to a stop high above the ground near the plaza, balancing himself to open his journal and finally speak.]

In your opinion, what would be the most useful or most amazing thing magic should be able to do?

[And that's all he'll say. No hellos, no welcomes, nothing. Draco Malfoy wants straight answers, and he wants them now. People are free to answer him via journal, but should they enter the center of the village anytime soon they might look up and spot a blonde boy hovering above them.]

From what, exactly?

Anything that might put them in danger. War, great evil...things like that, that threaten the generations that have yet to come.

And what makes you think magic can predict those sort of factors?

I didn't say it could. [ He doesn't even really know what magic can do. ] I was just answering your question--it's what it should be able to do.

What about on worlds that don't have magic then? How do you handle situations like that?

You give it your all--Do what you can and fight to protect what's important.

Is that something you're doing in your own world currently?

It's something I was doing, yeah.

And how was that working out for you? [He's mostly asking because he's curious how many other worlds are in the middle of wars.]

I like to think I was making a difference. [ A pause. ] There's no telling how much of one I made in the long run, though.

At least I tried, yeah? That's better than doing nothing.

That's the optimistic route. Perhaps it was doing something, perhaps it wasn't. How are you going to find out?

I probably won't, honestly. I could ask the others from my world, but...I think I'd prefer it stay a mystery. [ That, and it's probably a touchy subject. ]

...believe me, it's better not to ask questions about home that you don't have answers to. It's all just a giant mess of he-said and she-said anyway. Entirely not worth it.

[ A laugh. ] I would imagine that's the case. It's why I haven't been asking questions. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't tempted, but...yeah, definitely not worth it.

I take it you've been on the receiving end of that mess?

Picture this, if you can. I'm the only one from my world for almost two months, and then suddenly at least eight people from home turn up simultaneously. Several of them were from my future, and I learned far more about it than I ever wanted.

Naturally, they held everything against me as though it were entirely my fault.

That definitely doesn't seem fair on their part. Sure, I can get being upset over something. But if you hadn't actually done anything from your perspective, then they shouldn't hold it against you.

[ It just seems...wrong. ]

Eventually a few of them saw reason and actually realized I hadn't the faintest idea what they were talking about. The others though weren't as easily swayed. I wish I could say they were completely daft, but the things they know from my future aren't exactly winning me points.

Doesn't matter though, they've all left by now.

To be fair, it doesn't make much of a difference. The ones who were here? We're not exactly friends at home.
